He can also hear footsteps inside the house, signaling that there's someone inside-- two people, one walking with footwear, the other languidly moving with the first.
He takes a deep breath. He can imagine what's inside, but if Kiryu makes to inspect the house, he won't stop the man. It just won't be pleasant inside, because there is a young man who looks much like Ithaqua inside, attempting to coax a red-haired woman he calls his mother (though she looks a bit young to have a child as old as Ithaqua) into bed.
She's barely cognizant, but when she finally gets into bed and he maneuvers her limbs onto it, he fetches her a jug of water... And when she takes a good look at his face, she begins to scream.]
