Lying? I wouldn't go that far. Personal records will always have some bias.

That's how it was explained to me, yes. Though it sounds less like an affinity to them, and more that... the spirits seem to have their preferences. It's not necessarily about our ability to wield them, but their willingness towards our potential.

I'd be curious to see if there's a limit.
