Everything is dark because apparently Mika wanted to brood and bisect some limbs in peace -- he does not get the peace he wanted but he does get the shadow (though not the Shadow at this time) because the only things visible of Cid are his floppy haircut and the shine of inquisitiveness in his eye.
Well, this is pretty normal for vampires at the end of the day, so who is he to criticize some self-experimentation???]
I always thought that sort of thing was just-- [he makes a weird slithering gesture with his arm] --like, SCHLOOP. And it just happens. Instead of having to go through all the puzzle pieces.
