LIGHT UP THE FIREWORKS

Lazuli seems… agitated, this morning. Not so much in the sense that he’s irritable (because that's just normal, really), but it seems as if something has gotten under his skin. He keeps looking up, out the windows or out over the horizon, and it seems eventually he grows tired of whatever it is bothering him. He accosts whoever it is that seems to have little to do this day, gathering a group of competent (...?) wizards.

“I need you to come with me,” he says, arms crossed and a furrow between his brows. “Something’s not right, even more than things usually aren't right.”

Vague, but do you really have the option to ignore him? You can certainly try, but it won’t get you anywhere. You’re being dragged onto this impromptu excursion whether you want to go or not. Lazuli drags the group to the elevator, using a mana stone to transport everyone to the Northern tower. On the other side is the same snowy wasteland that’s always there, and nothing seems amiss no matter how hard you strain your senses. Lazuli seems to get even more tense, though, summoning and mounting his broom.

“Follow me. We can talk while we fly, but we don’t have long.”

🌙 Welcome to the mini-event! This isn't going to be anything too crazy and not likely to impact the trajectory of the game too terribly if you spend the entire thing just fucking around and finding out, so just have fun! If you play your cards right, though, you might find yourselves a new ally.

[ Okay everyone is pretty much scattered, so he raises his voice. Time to get organized, maybe, so that everyone knows what needs to be done, maybe?? ]

Hmm...has everyone managed to find anything of importance?

I managed to locate a history book of some sort.

[ Holding up the one he got. ]

I found a crystal, but I gave it to Ithaqua. It was a bit heavy for me.

[ He shoves his hands into his pockets. ]

What did you find in the book?

It's in some kind of indecipherable language, but...it had illustrations to indicate that it was essentially a book about history. Such as having images of people, monsters, and cities alongside landcapes.

It also featured a man with short hair, in spiky armor, and wielding some sort of spear. He must be an important figure of some type.

Hmm... I wonder if we could look through the library at the manor and find someone similar.

[ But who knows. ]

Were any of the landscapes familiar to you?

Unfortunately, I'd have to say no. If it has to do with this land, that's hardly surprising, however.

It was written in a language I didn't understand, though clearly held images about the history of various places, judging by the illustrations. That is, of people, monsters, and other things.

There was also a man with short hair and a glorious-looking spear represented a multitude of times. Though unfortunately the colors have long since faded.

...I do wonder what happens to be the purpose of these.

We should try to figure out what their purpose is.

I have the answer to that. [That's said as he emerges from one of the buildings furthest from the fire pit.]

They're puzzle pieces.

[Then he beckons to Malice and Ahito in particular.]

While waiting for the other two to come over... ]

How many pieces does this puzzle need, exactly?

[Ithaqua tilts his head as he mentally calculates the empty slots... then raises two fingers. Appropriate, then, that there are two pieces conveniently in the hands of the others.]

Handing his shard over.]

Oh, no, you should handle that yourself, heheh. We'll go together.

[Then he tilts his head at Malice.]

[Let's do this, then.]

[And here's his shard, that should be all of them!]

[So he beckons both of them to come with him, since they should be putting their shards in personally. He leads them and any other stragglers to the house he emerged from earlier, housing an elaborate mirror with a golden frame, bearing crystals rather than glass. However, the crystal is cracked in the middle, and there are indeed about two pieces missing.

Ithaqua waves his hands at it.]

[Setting his own piece into place, kind of braced like okay... what's going to happen...?]

[ Jing Yuan simply nods as things are happening with Malice and Ahito coming to present their pieces.

Also, he will be accompanying along this whole shabang as well! No sense in not watching it go down. ]

I checked the firepit. There were people here that disappeared suddenly, and recently. The cups still have alcohol in them. They were celebrating something around the fire before it happened.

[ Empty-handed... But there are more important things! ]

...I see. It did look like there was recent activity, though I hadn't the opportunity to look at it closer.

[ A pause in consideration, though. ]

There may be places still worth searching if what the others have are not enough to complete the puzzle Ithaqua has mentioned.
