Things haven't been easy the past two months for the new sage's wizards, but their hard work is paying off. All twenty-five, including sage and mentor, have been personally invited to the home of the newly-appointed Lady Diane Chenon of Borda Island, located in the Western Country.

Borda Island is a popular holiday desination located off the western coast of the mainland, and as the local ruler, Lady Diane's abode is nothing less than a beautiful castle—a gorgeous piece of architecture, even if it isn't as grand as Granvelle Castle.

She invites everyone to stay for an entire weekend. But when they all arrive to their destination, they'll find that she's...absent, due to sudden business she has to attend to. No matter, though. Her staff is ready to receive you anyway, and you're given free reign over both the castle and the island.

In the castle, the staff have set out an entire feast for the crew, with all sorts of food imaginable. From large savory dishes to delectable sweets, everything is exquisite, and it's set out in a buffet style so everyone can pick and choose what they want to eat. The castle also has stunning views of the town and the western expanse of sea beyond the mainland.

Outside of the castle, the world is your oyster. Borda Island's beaches are pristine, well-maintained, with silky sand and shining blue water. While there are several other beachgoers at this time of year, the sands and seas are mostly open for the sage's wizards to lounge in as they please. If you think your water breathing magic is up to snuff, then why not go diving? There are whispers of a sunken city far off the coast (if you think you can find it!), and you may be lucky enough to run across a mermaid...

The markets aren't far from the beach, and they hold a vast array of trinkets, activities, and foods catering to every taste imaginable. What's unique about these markets is that a large section of the markets are wizard-owned, which means there are plenty of magical trinkets for sale. And that also means the native wizards are quite curious about you, the alien wizards...

Alternatively, feel free to return to the mainland to visit the Nectar District, which is not that far, all things considered. This is the wizard-only pleasure district of the Western Country, for those who wish to indulge in a bit of depravity. And it is worth visiting at least once while you're here, if at least to connect with some native wizards and learn about wizard culture. But be careful, and do be home in time for dinner—it's hard to escape a Western wizard's charms once they decide they want to play with you.

As night falls, everyone is treated to a spectacular sight. Some may have heard whispers of its arrival, some may not. Either way, the Venator meteor shower darts across the sky as dusk falls.

The meteor shower has another name among wizards—the Lineal meteor shower. Wizards live for a very, very long time, yet their pasts and experiences live on in the teachings they hand down to their apprentices. The stars, too, live a very long time, and as the meteor shower comes by every year, they trace the slight differences in time and in these relationships.

In the past, shooting stars have been considered bad omens. And though the perception of them as simply natural phenomena has become more prevalent, the superstition remains. But some see them as travelers, foreign visitors who are here to usher in a new age of change. How do you see them?

Regardless, every wizard has a memory or two closely related to the meteor shower. Take a moment to look up to the shooting stars as they color the sky, and take in the life you have now—what sort of memory are you going to make on this night, and how will you pass it on?

JOB BOARD

Rekindling. Thanks to your Northern friends' hard work, the worst of the damages have been avoided for the City of Ice. But that doesn't mean they don't need your help still.

The earthquakes left by the chimera's rampage have rattled some buildings, and they need repair. The magical blizzards also seem to have injured some people and damaged some of the stained glass decorations the townsfolk value so highly. Collect crystals from the Forest of Ice to try and replicate them, and try to put in as much protective magic as you can—they need it.

They also request a barrier that blocks magical signatures, much like the one erected around Granvelle Castle. It seems their patrons are back and comatose, and they would like to avoid any attacks by other opportunistic Northern wizards...

Theatrical assistance and celebration. The West is a country of the arts, as well as science, which means there is always some sort of production going on that needs hands and talent. One of the largest theaters in the City of Affluence is in need of help with costuming, prop manufacturing, and is holding auditions for roles in their upcoming play. Maybe now's a good time to get some good publicity for wizards? Or the promise of remuneration and a share of the profits will be enough, as anyone who helps the theater or helps draw crowds to their new play will get quite the financial compensation. And free tickets!

Those more musically inclined or prone to stage fright can also help with the theater's upcoming parade through the city. Those with no marching band experiences can play the most important instrument of all, the cymbal. Or triangle, pick your poison.

If that's still too much, there's always passing out flyers to advertise the new production.

The advent of summer. The summer solstice nears, and the City of Clouds has asked for your assistance! Their yearly summer solstice celebration is coming up and they need help preparing for the festival. Their usual magical muscle is unfortunately still out of commission, so they've turned to the current sage's wizards for assistance. They need help building sets for their dances and music, setting up magical illusions and lights for the main event, and clearing the land where they'll have the food and activity stalls. This may not be as grand in caliber as your previous jobs, but at this point, it may be best to begin building regular goodwill among the natives of this world. Who knows if it may end up being your home...

G'RAHA TASKS

I've heard that some wizards have found that they're capable of a unique sort of spell with another wizard around them, and that those spells can be quite powerful. While I've yet to see any for myself, I've been doing some digging to see if I can understand where it comes from and how it might be replicable. To that end, I think it may be fun to host some sort of gathering where people can try out spells with their comrades and see what happens...?

TATARA ACTIVITIES

You know what the best way to bond is? Food! We should have a huge potluck feast one day—everyone make one dish they consider to be their specialty, and we'll have them all out for dinner one day in the dining hall! Don't miss it! I expect all of you to be there!

METEOR SHOWER VIEWING PARTY (open to all)

[ Don't want to watch the meteor shower alone? Want the company of your fellow wizards?

Well, good news, then! Unless your answer was "heck no I hate those losers", which, in that case, too bad, sucker! Because Bruno and Jing Yuan have put together a little party on the beach for people to watch it as a group! Everyone will find a little invitation magicked into their rooms with the place and the time; the beach, of course, and roughly around when the sun sets.

On the beach, the wizards will find a collection of colorful blankets spread out in a roughly even design. They're not immediately next to one another, giving people space to sprawl and have company without infringing on the others. There is a pile of comfy pillows at each blanket along with a picnic basket full of sandwiches and other snacks set at the center of each. Depending on the item, they've been spelled to keep it warm or cool.

Lighting up the area is a series of floating candles, similarly spaced around to offer some illumination without being too distracting. Overall, they're more there to mark out the area the party is being held in, lest someone lose their way getting to or wandering off from it in the coming dark.

Stationed slightly closer to the water and farther from where the blankets are set out is a telescope for those who want to take a closer look. Bruno and Jing Yuan could only afford the one, so be sure to take turns! ]

[ Tatara's here! He's parked on a purple blanket and he's strumming away to the tune of a song he's played in everyone's presence before, though he isn't singing this time.

He's watching the sky, too. But he can change up the BGM if you ask nicely! ]

[ He is sure that it's going to be yes since meteor showers are nice to watch, whatever kind of superstition is around, but he's just going to put forth the inquiry anyways just for smalltalk's sake. ]

[ Wow, Bruno sure wishes he wasn't shuffling up to Tatara at his blanket to potentially ruin the evening. However, he had this one chat with Khun, and now he's curious enough to at least risk the threatened stabbing (from Khun). Of course, he would prefer to remain unstabbed, but we'll see. ]

[Ithaqua claims one nice blue blanket and lays himself on it, spreading out his limbs like a starfish. He's more comfortable now than the last time he was at the beach, solely because this little gathering is happening later in the day, when the sun is already setting and thus the brightness is lessening. Though the temperature is still a little high due to the time of the year, so Ithaqua raises his hand and waves it, creating a fresh breeze and causing the air to cool.

Even if he's in a pair of shorts and a hoodie once more, a half-mask just to lessen the amount of skin on his face covered up. He really just doesn't like a lot of heat.

At least, if anyone isn't fine with the heat either, they can approach.]

[ Kurapika doesn't like hot weather too much either, but it's something he's used to... though that breeze feels nice. ]

[ Although Kurapika is usually hesitant to attend gatherings, it's become a lot easier to accept invitations like this, so he's here!

Near the beginning of the meteor shower, Kurapika spends some time at the telescope so he can get a closer look at the meteors painting the sky. If he senses someone waiting around him, however, he'll step back. ]

[ Later, Kurapika will be sitting on a yellow blanket, a few sandwiches and drinks set down next to him. Should anyone approach him, he'll wordlessly hand them one of those sandwiches. ]

[ Yamato calls out to him from nearby with a little wave. He casually makes his way over to Ahito, just as he caught the guy eyeing the telescope. ]

[ And Bruno is...! Uh. Bruno is... Well, it would appear he's tuckered himself right out before the meteor shower even really begins. Even with Jing Yuan's help, getting everything together, setting it all up, and enchanting what needed to be enchanted has taken a lot out of him.

Early on, Bruno can be found sprawled out on a blanket, fast asleep. He was only going to lie down for a few minutes but then how tired he was hit him hard. He's probably been sleeping for an hour by now. Maybe someone should wake him up for the meteors?

Although later on, he'll be found regularly at the telescope, though he'll quickly step aside for anyone else wanting to take a look through it. He's been having a grand time fiddling with all the knobs and focuses. ]

Man, I wish I had one of these back home. I would have spent all night looking at the sky. Here, if you twist this one, it gets a lot clearer, see?

[ That sure is a telescope they managed to end up buying, huh... ]

Convenient, isn't it? I don't usually have the time to spend utilizing such things, but they do make for better watch of the stars and other objects in heaven.

[ That's what he thinks, anyway. ]

[Considering the meteor shower was pretty much the one interesting thing Urianger heard about at the Western ladies' night, Urianger doesn't plan to miss it for the world. It's made even better when he receives word of a planned viewing party with his fellow wizards.

When he arrives (likely with Ithaqua), he magics up some extra ambiance: a sea of tiny floating stars to surround the area. These stars do have some physicality to them, so they can be walked through and pushed around. Just a fun little something to play with at the blankets before the real show begins.

Once the meteor shower is underway, Urianger settles down at his blanket to eat and take in the sights. Occasionally he spreads his deck of tarot cards out to practice drawing magical effects from them. This is probably the best time to do that, given all the energy in the air from the cosmic event happening above.]

[Yodarha heard of the meteor shower through the grapevine and just had to check it out! Urianger's setup is something else though! He can't help but bat some of the floating stars around for a bit before actually sidling up to the elezen.]

[Well! Someone in particular is having to be carried in by Jing Yuan after all the setup is complete, though he doesn't seem particularly against it. Settled against one of the blankets and not exactly eager to move, Solomon has instead settled on conjuring little bottles to his side, a small little craft station of his own making while they wait for the shower itself to pick up.

Anyone, and I mean literally anyone, will get a wave down from Solomon if they're even remotely in eye contact.]

[ Solomon better not be overdoing it with... whatever this is. Admittedly, he's let Jing Yuan take over the role of looking after Solomon by now, which means he won't be prodding the sorcerer over whether he should be conjuring anything at all yet. ]

If you're going to give me the "when you wish upon a star" line, I'm walking away.

[ Because meteors aren't actually stars! So! Anyway. ]

Jing Yuan remains in his close vicinity, though. Since he's already here and does not need to be waved down, consider this slightly more angled towards wildcardish. ]

[ robin isn't much for gatherings like these, normally, and yet ... here he is regardless, more or less about on time as far as the invitations go. he might be set up just a little further away from the crowd, but he's still there on the beach regardless, perched on his own deep violet blanket with golden trim.

honestly, he's probably just lounging. he seems relaxed enough, anyway, sat on the blanket, supporting himself with one hand with the elbow of the other arm slung across a knee as he watches the sky. though honestly, it's maybe a little astounding he can be comfortable in the heavy coat and layers he's wearing even if the sun is starting to set...

(that said, for those paying attention: his eyes are not the gold-brown that most will have likely gotten accustomed to seeing them as. it's darkening out, but their color can be clearly be made out as a deep red, same as the six eyes of the serpent that had ferried the bulk of the northerners back some few weeks ago.)

later on at night, however, there's a much larger black form (bigger than the last time it'd showed up, even!) curled up comfortably on the sands. is it dozing...?

a telescope is one thing. maybe if you ask with the proper amount of respect, you can indulge in a night flight that doesn't involve clinging to your broom? ]

Bruno's internal screaming sure intensifies when he turns back from his own time peacefully gazing at meteors through the telescope to find that sprawled out on the sand instead of Robin. Oh god, why, why this again? Is that really...? It has to be, right? No one else is freaking out? ]

[ Bruno will not come terribly close, though he certainly makes an attempt to. A few steps, then his courage fails him. Look, he's been brave enough, does he really have to walk up to a strange dragon, too? C'mon. ]

[They've been meeting like this often, haven't they? And yet Ithaqua doesn't mind, because he has nothing against Robin, and he finds it easier to relax if he's around a creature rather than someone who looks human.

Ithaqua lowers himself onto his belly on the sands, uncaring of the sand on his bare skin for now, to watch Robin.]

[Phil has set himself up with a blue blanket thanks to the selection so thoughtfully provided by Bruno, though he keeps himself at a distance to everyone else and chooses a spot on the edges of the gathering. He's selected a couple of sandwiches and some various snacks to munch on along with some tea to drink, and while he won't be inviting anyone to come join him on the blanket per se, he also won't chase anyone away if they want to sit down beside him. He may even offer you some food if you do!

Later on, he can be found at the telescope peering into it with decided scientific curiosity and making a chart of the stars he can see through it. One never knows when it might be useful!]

A little later, he's stopped playing in favour of sprawling out on the blanket and gazing at the night sky. He seems contemplative as he has a hand up, like he could reach for the celestial bodies.
