I have no doubts that it will.

[ Jing Yuan says not because he thinks Byron deserves that courtesy (his stance being fairly clear), because he doesn't think he does, rather...his thoughts are that they're all tired, and the easier on them (Byron not included), the better.

Still, he makes a few more steps closer to Solomon, and after a bit of reluctance, pausing to look up at the sky, hesitating, before back at Byron, and then at the elder man, he calls away his glaive. Instead, he reaches out with one hand to have his fingers aim to wrap around one of Solomon's hands. ]

All we can do is trust in each other to manage this much, at the least. We've made it this far. And if something does happen...I'm certain we'll be prepared for it. As we always have been.

[Distracted as he is with the way the talk meanders among the others, Solomon isn't expecting any more moments of physical touch. A brief kiss in a moment of panic, yes, but that had its place.

It's the brush of Jing Yuan's hand against his own, less a request and more a line drawing him back, that gets Solomon to start slightly, blinking as he turns to look.

Oh.]

[Surprise melts to hesitation, then to exhaustion. His fingers carefully tighten against that grip.

He doesn't say anything else, if only because he looks a little lost for words for once. His eyes settle on Jing Yuan briefly, gratefully, almost apologetically, before they turn right back to the scene at hand.

He'll keep that hand in his, though, as long as Jing Yuan is willing to offer it.]

[ Solomon will find that Jing Yuan is willing to offer his hand as long as he can, no...wishes.

He may used to being the bystander, the one who observes from the outer fringes of certain matters until certain points, without getting close. And for being, of a given value, alone in this.

But...the truth of the matter is that he isn't alone. Not here. And especially not when Jing Yuan has all the affection he believes he can give to him; in little ways at times, and in some respects, those may at least mean something. The look given to him, albeit brief, is met with a warm gaze in turn, before they are to direct their mutual attention back to the proceedings, hand in hand. ]
