do you believe in magic in a shared bath's heart?
The bath at the mansion really is extensive -- probably more extensive than a lot of them have seen, considering there are literally multiple pools of varying temperatures, probably statues and indoor plants or something for atmosphere, steam rooms, complimentary bath things (everything in the manor is kind of complimentary but shshhh) and whatnot.
On this particularly fine and nondescript day, though -- there's a bit of a commotion whenever you wander in butt-naked for your soak or whatever you like to do in here (you can hang from the ceiling like a bat or something we ain't the judge of you); there's two enterprising wizards flitting about poking at things.
The thing with 🪄 Cid Kagenou 🪄 is that he is Very Into Baths, and Very Into Magic, and thus the Bath Magic is one of the few areas where even his li'l old self can shine. Or not shine, given that they've all been here for 2.5 days (extremely rough estimate) and the miracle is nobody has blown up the mansion trying magic yet. But there is definitely magic happening! Since there's already steam and everything.
And then there's 👓 Yamato 👓. Yamato is Here and enabling himself by watching Cid experiment with various things in the area. Initially he probably would've tried to stop him, but seeing what Cid's been doing has made him want to try some magic experimentation of his own. Pairing a teenager who kind of knows what he's doing with a man who has no idea what's going on makes it even more of a miracle that the mansion has not been blown up yet.
But if you look even closer, you'll spot various small differences:
............. Enjoy your bath!
(OOC: This is backdated to before the South mission so South Wizards get in on the fun too!)

But if you look even closer, you'll spot various small differences:
🛁 all of the water has bubbles in it; the hot bath in fact looks like it has small duck-shaped bubbles just sort of trundling along, occasionally a duck pops and releases a puff of scented air (scents may vary at your discretion)
🛁 the cold water bath keeps turning different colors, maybe they should stop experimenting with it before somebody ends up blue for the week
🛁 some of the statues and potted plants have been slightly altered; nothing too outrageous, but at least one or two statues have been turned into roomba replicas and there's a potted plant with leaves that look like people in the manor's faces in miniature
🛁 the steam room is letting out an intermittent screaming noise that sounds very human, but there's no one in it
🛁 some of the bath soaps are extremely bright and keep on changing colors, as if they were colored like a disco ball (rave! in the bathhouse!)
............. Enjoy your bath!

[Yeah, Kiryu, why aren't you trying. Cid puts a hand on the doorjamb, but doesn't bother to magick anything; truth be told he could probably bumblefuck his way to a solution, but it's far more interesting seeing people contend with Chaos! In The Bathhouse.
That, and he's really curious to see how they contend with it.
Therefore!]
I was hoping somebody better at it would come along. You're a wizard right now too, aren't you?

[Where the hell did you get this metaphor, Kiryu
from me i just came up with it haha]

[Just right on queue, another shriek emerges. He turns his head a little because wow that went right straight into his ear and now he can only hear on one side. It's karma, but that's not important.
He points his good ear towards Kiryu for now.]
Then you can get a tree from a tomato. I believe in you.
[This metaphor is going places.]

[Empty threat, he's so going to take the blame because that's how he is. Kiryu's focus appears, the piece of paper held carefully, and he dramatically extends a hand towards the steam room]
Dragon of Dojima!
[Wincing a bit at having to say that aloud, but oh well -- and the shriek disappears immediately!
......
For three seconds, but then it sounds again. The tone of the scream has changed into a war cry of some sort with a more grave voice that sounds a lot like Kiryu. Great, just what he needed]
What the...

[Here he is neither poor nor innocent nor a student nor even remotely passing through but none of that is important!!! He already knows this guy's kind of a pushover for a bruiser, so he's not too worried either way.
He'll shut up just to watch the little display -- should he give the piece of paper privacy, or.....? Nah he's totally going to try and peek. The incantation almost makes him snicker because who would have expected something like that out of this guy???? But he manages to contain it down to a very strange noise that sounds like he might be choking.]
Ahem. Hem. Went down the wrong pipe. I can't tell if that was an incantation though or if you've now cursed the steam room with the Dragon of Dojima.
no subject
Kinda thinking I cursed it.
[The paper's contents are not fully seen, but one glance reveals what seems to be something drawn with crayon. He put his focus away before any details of what it is]
'Dragon of Dojima' is a title I have had for ages. It's a burden, pretty much.
[Precisely what he has been trying to leave behind for so long, and now here he is, with that as his incantation, hah]

Kiryu has now been inserted next to Shenanigans & Manual Labor somewhere in his mental index. ☆
That said......]
Well, I guess there could be worse curses -- at least Dragon of Dojima kinda sounds cool. Makes you sound like you're about to eat your enemies right up.
Hopefully that's not the curse that's on the room, though.
[Sticks his head in slightly. Sees nothing through the steam. Looks back and gives Kiryu a meaningful look like: hey, did you want to be the human sacrifice for this room that now sounds like you? because maybe it was always going to end this way.]
no subject
Nobody is getting devoured by a steam room, of all things.
[If Cid lets it happen, he tries to grab Cid by the shoulder to pull him back, and Kiryu just...goes for one of the plants that were so magicked up with faces and what not]
Let's see if this is safe.
[And he puts the plant at the threshold and manages to push it forward into the room, to see if it suffers any damage from misapplied magic!
.......
Well that plant sure isn't getting melted by untold horrors]

Honestly if the Steam Dragon of Dojima hollers any louder at this point it really is going to become some kind of musical side quest. Anyways.]
You know the saying, don't you? Never say never, especially when magic and baths are involved.
[That's absolutely not a thing, it's just a thing Cid made up on the spot but at the same time........ it's not like he lacks experience in these things. Be that as it may, he absolutely lets Kiryu be the steam room steam shield -- the place is still pretty overheated!! Maybe it's all the hotblooded curse going on in there.
Or, I guess, somebody's leaf face is the steam room shield. Peeking curiously...... hey, is that one of their duo of fine perhaps-hosts staring into the cloudy yonder? Let's be real it's probably an angry Wanderer foliage.]
... That's not a bad idea. Maybe you scared off the curse with the whole. Face thing.
[There's at least one or two exorcisms out there that rely on scaring away the problem! It's not a stretch!]
no subject
I thought getting rid of curses involved more salt than this.
[And less plants]
