the beach episode (dated before the east mission)

There's a small slice of sandy beach between mountains and wasteland, where the South meets Central, only an inlet of ocean between them, and that is where Bruno has decided to set up camp.

Literally.

He only had a simple tent and supplies for two initially. Tatara had asked if he could join him on his little trip out and how could he say no? Unfortunately for him, Tatara may have decided to invite everyone else, too, so, welcome, everyone, to the beach episode and a chance to relax after a potentially rough week in the City of Rain.

The sand is warm and fine, the water isn't too chilly, and scrubby little palm trees and plant life dot the dunes. Sea birds are the most active wildlife out here, not counting whatever fish can be found dwelling in the depths of the inlet between South and Central or further out into the ocean. It's comfortable enough... unless you hate sand, that is! You don't hate sand, right?

Since Tatara's arrival, more than Bruno's humble setup can be found.

- There's food fit for a picnic and enough bottles of wine for the evening.

- In the evening, a (non-deadly) bonfire will be built and there'll be pillows to sit on for those who don't want to sit directly on the sand.

- A few colorful rough wool blankets laid out under umbrellas meant to provide shade.

- There's still only one sad-looking tent... However! Bruno's gone ahead and enchanted it so that, when one pushes the cloth flap aside and enters, they'll find a much more comfortable setup inside.

And, of course, anything the other wizards have decided to bring! Bruno wasn't expecting a party but now that it's here, he sure can't tell them not to have fun however they want.

A tree's private enough. We could keep kissing there. And I'll tease you the whole time.

( Joke. Real? Real if it happens. They might be a bit sore, and they'd certainly be worried over each other, but if they're fine... he'd be just as happy to kiss him tangled in the branches of a tree as in the air or on the beach.

He wants to keep looking at Ginger, but as he recognizes the scent and sight of town in his lower periphery, he glances toward the view, giving it a quick sweep. )

... Over there. ( He'll point out the placard. Thankfully they don't have to spend too long looking. ) Go around the back, keep to the shadows.

( You know what, actually... Murmuring his spell, Mika cloaks them in shadow - something inspired by his earring, which wraps him in night. It doesn't make them seem all too different to each other (though perhaps they seek a little dimmer), but it does help them blend into the dark better, and sneak along the back windows so Mika can hear what's not occupied.

It's a lot easier to cast magic for Ginger - because of Ginger. His heart's in it. His heart's here. )

[ He goes pink because - Mika - what… ]

[ Does he even realize what he’s just said? All the ways it could be taken? Ginger despairs - for himself. Well, only about ten percent. The other ninety is ready to find the nearest flat surface.

And then when he realizes what they’re doing - he looks at Mika, eyebrows raised in a scandalized expression that says really? But his lips are pulled into a smile, and it would be a grin if he wasn’t bitting down on a laugh to stay quiet. He’s an officer of law, but charming, endearing, cute-sexy Mika makes it easy to break the rules. Just this once.

( - and probably every time after this if Mika even looks at him a little pleadingly, a little mischievous.)

Mika’s magic helps hide them in shadows - and he has a thought about it (it feels nice on him, Mika’s magic. He wonders why he never asked to feel it before. He thinks he’ll ask; he wants to feel more of Mika on him) - but it’s stealth time right now. He even tries to fly more quietly below the row of windows, waiting for Mika’s cue. ]

( "Naughty"?? Mika visibly pauses, wondering what Ginger's thinking,

Anyway, they have crimes to do, done only partly because Mika (as usual) could hear the blood rushing south, so he didn't really want to take Ginger through a front entrance... and also, he doesn't really care to do things the proper way with human facilities. This attitude is easier to get away with in a post-apocalyptic world, but perhaps a little questionable here.

Really, though, it's mostly just that it's a little fun to do this sort of thing with Ginger. Things they're not supposed to do, to get to things they want to do - just the two of them. If Ginger didn't like it, he'd stop. But... Ginger's having fun, too, isn't he?

This is fun. He's having fun. So Ginger raises his eyebrows and bites back a laugh, and Mika just grins back, as if reaffirming - Yeah, really.

As they approach a particular window, Mika will murmur: )

This one. I can get it.

( If Ginger slows to a hover, Mika can get the window open with magic - he's had practice, okay, - and allow them passage into a cozy room. Moonlight cast along the seating and bed, with small shelves and things for storage and unlit lanterns set about. (Thankfully, he can also get the door across the room locked with magic, without needing to leave Ginger.)

Mika's counting on no one bothering making rounds this time of night, or keeping precise track of who's in what room, but... he also doesn't think they'll be very loud. It's just kissing, right? (Potentially famous last words? Who knows.) )

We'll have to be quiet.
