the beach episode (dated before the east mission)
There's a small slice of sandy beach between mountains and wasteland, where the South meets Central, only an inlet of ocean between them, and that is where Bruno has decided to set up camp.
Literally.
He only had a simple tent and supplies for two initially. Tatara had asked if he could join him on his little trip out and how could he say no? Unfortunately for him, Tatara may have decided to invite everyone else, too, so, welcome, everyone, to the beach episode and a chance to relax after a potentially rough week in the City of Rain.
The sand is warm and fine, the water isn't too chilly, and scrubby little palm trees and plant life dot the dunes. Sea birds are the most active wildlife out here, not counting whatever fish can be found dwelling in the depths of the inlet between South and Central or further out into the ocean. It's comfortable enough... unless you hate sand, that is! You don't hate sand, right?
Since Tatara's arrival, more than Bruno's humble setup can be found.
And, of course, anything the other wizards have decided to bring! Bruno wasn't expecting a party but now that it's here, he sure can't tell them not to have fun however they want.

- There's food fit for a picnic and enough bottles of wine for the evening.
- In the evening, a (non-deadly) bonfire will be built and there'll be pillows to sit on for those who don't want to sit directly on the sand.
- A few colorful rough wool blankets laid out under umbrellas meant to provide shade.
- There's still only one sad-looking tent... However! Bruno's gone ahead and enchanted it so that, when one pushes the cloth flap aside and enters, they'll find a much more comfortable setup inside.
And, of course, anything the other wizards have decided to bring! Bruno wasn't expecting a party but now that it's here, he sure can't tell them not to have fun however they want.

[....in full uniform, and with a look that means business.]
[During the day, the Special Inquisitor eschews any sign of fun or entertainment in favor of patrolling the beach, keeping a close eye out for any monsters, magical dangers, or disasters that might ruin the fun people are having here. This includes people unwisely getting sunburned; we can't permit that, now can we? She's not here to spoil your fun, that's just a potential side-effect...]
[At night, she takes it upon herself to maintain the fire, both feeding it and using magic to encourage stubborn or wet logs to burn more effectively. Outside of that she's watching out for anyone who may have had a little too much [makes the drinky drinky motion], is feeling some aftereffects from their beach exertion, or just otherwise in bad shape. And when those rounds are done, she switches to... another patrol again.]

Kiryu is staring at the sea. He doesn't look like he's all set for beach times -- except that now he has something that's close to being a Hawaiian shirt. Also sandals. This is the beach time Kiryu. Last he was like this was when he lived in good ol' Okinawa]
Come on. We're going fishing.
[Kiryu invites anyone who comes close. Want to go fish in the sea? It's going to be a time! He adds:]
I have done spear fishing before. We can try it.
[Is it surprising that this guy offered a sane and normal activity like fishing and then gave the spin that turned it into a tough ordeal?]

Normally composed and relaxed just like a majority of those representing the North, Solomon now looks incredibly reluctant to be anywhere near the beach. He's not in a panic, at least - more that he looks very unwell and very, very uncomfortable.
But he told a couple people he would tag along. Just to see, just to make sure. And, well... he's glad he got his answer now, and not while on a battlefield somewhere.
Solomon will not be going near the water on his own, preferring to stay under the umbrellas as far back as he can manage, looking as though he's roasting alive. Later on in the day, either when he's overheated or just has pushed himself enough, he'll retreat into the tent, where he will be face down in one of the chairs with a glass of wine nearby.]

During his time on the beach, Kurapika can be found spending most of the day sitting under one of the umbrellas and reading, which is the best thing to do at the beach.
He isn't reading forever, though. Kurapika also spends some time kicking a ball he's magicked up. His kicks aren't always successful, but that's because he just so happens to be blindfolded. Once he's gotten sick of that, he takes up the mantle of tending the bonfire. ]

At night he unpacks some extra ingredients he brought along - enough for a group of people to make some s'mores, as a matter of fact!]
Well? Want to give it a try?
[It's the morning after spending the night, however, where that cheer seems to fail him. He tosses and turns throughout the night, albeit quietly, and when he wakes he does not look particularly cheerful nor... well, in general.
It's a short-lived moment, however. Those who pay attention may notice a sudden burst of magic as he casts without incanting, soothing the day's aches and pain with a spell, tension leaking from his body as it takes.
Hopefully it's too early for anyone to notice...]

[When Yodarha was invited to go to the beach, you bet your butt he'd come along for the ride! And where is he? You've guessed correctly, right next to the water with fishing pole in hand. Next to him is a barrel full of water with several fishies already wiggling inside. Surprising considering he only has access to one arm at the moment!
Care to join him?]
2) Fry Away (Now)
[Later on in the evening, the intensity of the bonfire has been kicked up ever so slightly to allow for a more efficient cooking process, and a pot full of bubbling oil has been placed atop it. Yodarha carefully tosses in gutted and breaded fish to begin the frying process! The old man wouldn't mind a hand or two for help, should some be available!]

He also hates heat. He hates the sun bearing down on him. Why did he come here, he feels like he's melting. He's already dressed in the lightest clothes he can find, a tank top with a hood and a pair of shorts, and yet... And yet! Where are the massive trees to hide under! To hide in! At the very least, he managed to find a half mask to hide (and protect) his eyes, just so he can breathe without worrying about sweat clogging and choking him. Possibly a bit too much of a stretch of the imagination... but he can't deny that he would have been miserable if he wore his full mask. As long as what's important is hidden away, he's fine with his mouth and half his nose exposed.
Out in the water, Ithaqua grumbles as he wades out until his neck is submerged, complaining about how the water needs to be colder so that he won't be sweating as much when he has to leave it. His hood has fallen off, revealing that he does in fact have white-blond hair-- it's just not wavy at the moment due to being completely drenched. This might be the most vulnerable Ithaqua has ever been since arriving in this world, bundled up as he usually is, since now his too-pale, too-long limbs are visible for everyone to see.
And yes, he's bellyaching out loud in the hopes that someone will be willing to lend him a sympathetic ear.
On (relatively) dry land... where is he? Lurking in one of the larger trees, legs drawn to his chest, feet encrusted with sand, and hands clutched around a cold drink that will surely not be cold later. He's clearly rationing it out to make it last, and even if the only parts of his face that are showing are his nose and mouth, he clearly looks miserable. And likely in the early stages of sunburn. How is he even still alive with that unnaturally pale complexion?
At night, once the sun has finally set and the air has cooled, he finally, finally comes out of his grumpy little shell. The wine has been brought out, and he can be found sniffing about them like a curious cat... then giving nods to the person who's handing them out, unsubtly saying he would like one as well.
He also brought sparklers for the night event because apparently those are meant to be important for a beach party? He hasn't the faintest, but he'll be handing them out to anyone who asks... though he doesn't have a lighter. They can light them with their magic, they're wizards anyway. However! They may just sputter, die, and pop out a few sad strings of confetti instead because Ithaqua didn't pay attention to whether some of these were actual sparklers, or "joke" sparklers.]

During the day, he can be found milling around the beach, either wandering along the shoreline or relaxing under an umbrella with a drink in hand (no alcohol for him this time, though). He very notably refrains from actually entering the water until he decides to test his magical progress by walking on top of it. And he actually manages to get pretty far out! But it takes an enormous amount of concentration, so the second something breaks it, well... And if that wasn't bad enough, he immediately starts panicking and flailing because he can't swim!!! Is anyone here good at swimming enough to help pull the pathetic wet elf to safety...?
In the evening, Urianger finds a spot at the bonfire to contemplate a charm to wipe everyone's memories of what they saw earlier-- No, he's honestly still in pretty good spirits in spite of that embarrassment. It seems as though joining his fellow wizards around the fire for some food and conversation is doing wonders for him. Huh.
Late at night, Urianger can be found in one last spot that isn't sleeping in the tent. A white light can be seen a good distance away from the campsite, and further inspection reveals that the light is coming from Urianger. More specifically, it's his focus: a glowing white crystal that's floating alongside his star globe as he looks up at the sky full of glittering stars. Whatever enchantment he's muttering seems to bearing fruit, because those same glittering stars are beginning to take shape around him, dancing and swirling with traces of sand kicked up by the wind. Anyone entering that little field of magic may find it warm and soothing.
He's not completely oblivious to his company, though. He lowers his gaze and offers a smile.]
What bringeth thee hither? Art thou unable to sleep?

But that moment passes and he's eager to join everyone away from the water, actually. Malice will not get near the water at all if he can help it. He's dressed in basic black swimtrunks and he's left his prosthetic arm back in his room; he's still a little too long and lanky, but he is more muscled than one might expect. He's also bearing a few scars here and there across his torso - they're all deeper wounds that are long since healed.
Anyway, you can find him at the bonfire once night rolls around properly, listening in on conversations and generally just enjoying everyone's company. But what really has his attention are the s'mores, he's never seen those before and will eagerly ask anyone eating one:]
What's that? What's it taste like?
[Ah yes, describing how food tastes again to someone who doesn't understand it. Good luck.
As people start turning in for bed, Malice will venture a little closer to the water. Not close enough to actually get wet, mind you, but a little further out from the those that are still awake. Out here, he's going to be working on his magic, specifically playing with fire. Again. One would think he'd get bored of this, but apparently not.
Tonight's attempts are a little different, however. While Malice has mainly been working on how to use fire to hurt or defend himself, this is new. He's lighting up small fireballs and working on turning them into different colors - green, blue, purple, pink, and okay one of them is just slightly more red - and then setting them off so that they trail upward into the sky and explode in a burst of color. Are these fireworks? Yes. Enjoy the show!]

During the day, he can be found looking for stones in the sand along the beach. In particular, he seems to be looking for flat ones. A little later you can spot him trying to skip stones across the water, and he's surprisingly good at it.
Later at night, Day can be found in a quiet spot on the beach, with a glass of wine in hand as he seems to be gazing up at the stars. He seems somewhere between contemplative and...frustrated? Like he's trying to get something out of this but it's not coming to him. ]

During the day though, with sun shining brightly, it may seem like Comet is no where to be found... Someone sees one of the wool blankets meant for the umbrellas seemingly rise with something underneath to give it movement like a sea slug... Or a woolen version of a stereotypical sheet ghost. It even has a straw sun hat on top. Someone is a little frail to the sun at peak hours it seems... But they still wish to be about. They'll be under the umbrellas if someone was hoping to rest prior to a jumpscare, or they're "floating" past the picnic food to take some. You can tell Comet about the magic tent! They didn't realize...
When the rays stop beating down so hard later on, Comet will be doing a bit of sand doodling. They're still wearing the straw hat from earlier, while the rest of their beach day DLC outfit includes a t-shirt, a cover-up hoodie meant for sun protection, shorts, and sandals. There are also a bunch of long sticks and branches for others to join in for art. Collaborative art time! Currently they're just drawing a giant sea turtle with baby turtles with shells to decorate. Off to the side, there's a crude drawing of an umbrella meant for names. Like so! Anyone can write names under it of course, but also see names written under it, and wipe them or replace it. Who wrote these before? Comet won't tattle or paying much attentiom, they thought of it as a good luck charm of sorts and seeing it before on the sand and blackboard back home.
Aside from that, they're also watching the sunset and walking along the beach at night to collect shells. Feel free to catch up with them! ]
